Transparent fee — UGX 20,000 per application
Why we exist
Every term, capable students across Uganda are sent home from school — not for anything they did, but because the fees didn't arrive. At the same time, schools hold bursaries that go unfilled and sponsors search for students to support. The pieces exist; they just don't find each other.
Malaika Scholar is the bridge. We put every open scholarship in one searchable place, make applying possible from any phone in about ten minutes, and carry each application from a family's kitchen table to a selection committee's desk — with updates by SMS the whole way.
The platform is run by the Malaika Children Initiative, working alongside partner schools, community leaders, and sponsors who believe the same simple thing: a child's education shouldn't end over money.

Most of our families apply from a basic smartphone on patchy data. Everything works with just a phone number — no email, no printer, no cyber café.
More than tuition
School fees are only part of the story. Scholarships on Malaika also cover health support, materials, and vocational skills — whatever keeps a student learning.
